Oreo Truffles ~ No Bake & No Egg

Truffles are sweet magical things that melt in your mouth taking you close to heaven in one bite, esp if you are a chocolate lover. These are very popular during Holidays Season around Christmas and New Year! I wanted to make these truffles from long time, but didn't dare thinking about all those complicated ingredients. Recently I have come across this easy Oreo Truffles recipe, where these are made with only 3 Ingredients, with out any other thought and wasting time, I have made these and they were super hit at my house and at work. My family, friends and colleagues loved these and loaded me with tons of compliments. I have already made 3 batches of these in the past 3 weeks . I am warning you these are quite addictive and loaded with calories, so be mindful when you are having these. Here is the recipe for you, Njoy!

Ingredients:
Recipe Source: Life in LoftHouse

Oreo Cookies - 1 package
Cream Cheese - 8 oz
Dipping Chocolate - your favorite ( I have used 8 oz of White Chocolate and 8 Oz of Dark Chocolate)

Method:

  1. Place OREO cookies in a food processor. Pulse until cookies become fine crumbs. (If you don't have a food processor place cookies in a large zip-lock bag, seal shut and pound with a rolling pin). Remove 1/4 cup of the cookie crumbs and set aside.
  2. Place all the remaining cookie crumbs in a large bowl. Add the cream cheese and stir with a spatula until combined and smooth. Roll mixture into 30 one-inch balls. Place balls on a parchment paper lined baking sheet and set in fridge to chill for one hour.
  3. Heat both of the Baker's chocolate in the microwave, according to package directions.
  4. Dip 15 chilled OREO balls into the melted dark baking chocolate and 15 balls into the white baking chocolate. Let excess drip off.
  5. Place dipped balls onto another parchment lined baking sheet. Sprinkle tops with the reserved cookie crumbs.
  6. Let chocolate truffles set completely before serving. Store left over truffles in the refrigerator.

 Notes:

  • Do not use chocolate chips for dipping. Use Dipping Chocolate Bars or Chocolate Bark for this recipe, which helps the chocolate to set and harden.
  • I have to tell White Chocolate Dipped Truffles are Kids Favorites.

Pictorial:
Make Oreo Cream cheese balls

Dark and White Chocolate Bars I have used for dipping.

Melt chocolate in microwave in 30 sec increments. Dip the balls and roll to coat with chocolate evenly.

Half of the balls are dipped in White Chocolate.

Coating with Dark Chocolate

Dipping is done. Place reserved cookie crumbs on top and chill in refrigerator until chocolate sets.

Truffles are out of the refrigerator.

  1. Hi Mythreyi
Thankyou so much for sharing such a simple recipe.
Nothing like home-made chocolate truffles to share with family
    and good friends.
One query are your Oreo cookies the cream sandwich variety?
So do you blend cream and all together?
    Thanks once again,

    1. Mrs Singh, yes the Oreos that I bought has cream in between. You have to grind the Cookies along with the cream. But the Black cookies will take over the color. You don't notice the whiteness of cream, the cream is critical adds lot of creamy falvor. Trust Me! :-)
